Late night thinking.

So this is my first blog, woohoo! Anyways late night thinking. So recently while trying to gather sources and such for my story, which is about the texting while driving ban, I did some digging and found out that the person who proposed the bill was Sen. Ryan McKenna. As I researched him I got his e-mail address. So I was like I can do this and got to the intro "hello," then erased that and went to "Hey," then scratched that and realized that I didn't know how to write to someone of that high status. I mean I don't know about you but I have never written to a senator before and I didn't know how.

After sending my topic and rough rough first draft to Professor Sherer, she responded in a well put simple statement about my dilemma. She said, he's a person too, just be yourself. I thought to myself and thought, shit, he is just a person like us. Why are we putting him up on the pedestal like that? Anyways that's another story on it's own. Putting higher up figures on a pedestal just becuase they ARE the higher authority. Nevertheless, they are people just like you and I.

Anyways first blog nothing special but it's something. Just had to jot this in my blog thought it was a little funny. I giggled about it and I think Professor Sherer did too.

  1. Keep after him, or go for an underlying (just like us) in his office.

    Nice first entry, Chad.

  2. Hope he called you...you need him for the story! Call him back if he didn't call you. You do have that right. He did, after all, author this law, he knows he has to answer to it...or it isn't something he really believes in! Ahhhhh, now there's a story!
